Losing a loved one is the most painful experience one can go through. When this happens totally unexpectedly, the pain is further heightened by the sense of loss that this brings.
This experience is something which the families of the victims of road accidents or accidents in the workplace know very well, and this is why Sostegno aims to support them at this very difficult time.
It was a Sunday morning in May 2012 when Francesco was in San Giuliano Milanese to meet with some friends and get an espresso at the bar. After the espresso, they all decided to go outside to have a cigarette and a chat on the sidewalk at the corner of the street. Suddenly, two cars collided right in front of them at the intersection. One of the cars rolled over the group of friends, injuring some and unfortunately killing Francesco. Ludmilla, Francesco’s companion and who was financially dependent on him, decided to seek for legal advice on a possible claim for damages. When we first met Ludmilla, all we knew about her experience with her former attorney was that she believed she was not entitled to receive any compensation for the death of her loved one because she was not married to Francesco at the time of the accident. Despite being discouraged and disheartened, she decided to contact us because she learned about our formula that does not entail costs. She received compensation six months after the accident. Though still in disbelief, she took the opportunity to restart her life. She bought her own apartment and relocated to Sanremo.
Anna lost her husband Fabio in a car accident near the Melegnano tollgate in 2015. The accident was caused by a truck that pushed the car on which they were travelling against a traffic divider. Fabio died leaving his wife Anna and two children of 4 and 8. With our help, six months after the accident, Anna received a compensation of over 900,000€ allowing her to start a new life and move to a house closer to her parents who could help her look after her children while she started a new job. She also decided to set aside part of the amount so that her children could attend a good school, as their father would have wished.
Constantin and his wife Helena migrated from Romania to Italy in 2007. He worked as a gardener and she worked as a house cleaner. They both worked hard to keep their son, who stayed in Romania with Helena’s parents. Every month they would send everything they could to their family abroad, dreaming the day they could all be together as a family, not only for short holiday periods. Unfortunately, in February 2016, Helena was killed in a terrible accident on her way to the grocery store. After the accident Constantin didn’t even want to hear about seeking compensation, he was distrustful and too distraught over the death of his wife. He comes in touch with Sostegno and discovers that not only he has the right to receive compensation for his loss, but he can also seek compensation for his son and Helena’s parents. All he had to do is leave it up to us and think of taking care of his family. Today, thanks to the help of Sostegno, Constantin had the chance to use the amount to reunite with his son and start his own business in Romania like he and Helena have always dreamed of.
Sostegno started with an idea by its founder, Massimo Dragoni, who brought together a group of specialised professionals, lawyers and psychologists to create a new organisation which would guarantee concrete help to victims of road traffic accidents or accidents in the workplace and their loved ones, going beyond mere assistance to obtain the right compensation.
Our commitment does not end with the usual legal care, it goes above and beyond – offering a psychological support service which is dedicated and specialised in the management of traumatic events.
Legal assistance covers all activities performed by our team of lawyers, specialised in managing insurance and judiciary compensation procedures.
Here, our consultants’ work is aimed at fully relieving family members from formal or bureaucratic obligations, starting with the fullest collection of information regarding the dynamics of events, continuing on with the timely contact of the counterparts and insurers involved.
In this case, our work flanks that prescribed by INAIL law; in fact, we focus on identifying the civil responsibilities which are not covered by legal guarantees, to further the care of victims and families to the fullest.
